The Telegraph/Waterstones Bath Festival of Children's Literatue - DFC Panel and signing
Posted by Lorenzo at 10:32 am

Some pics here from our appearance at the Telegraph/Waterstones Bath Children's Literature festival this weekend.

Here you can see yours truely with my bro, and some very talented fellow DFC contributers, as well as the man in command, David Fickling. Those of you who were there, will know how much fun we had discussing all aspects of past and future comic work, and generally spreading the word about the mighty DFC.

After our panel we did a signing session, and it was so cool to meet so many new young readers, and talk to them about Monkey Nuts and all that jazz.

Next stop on the Go Nuts tour, Birmingham Comics Expo this coming Sunday!

Monkey Nuts Progress shot: The Foaming Falls
Posted by Lorenzo at 6:07 pm

Been a while since I showed you any Monkey Nuts stuff, and in fact, I've had to give up on the ole' adventure checklist I was putting together. Reason being, I can't keep up!! Those of you who were following them will know I only got up to issue 6, and already the DFC is nearly at issue 20! So, you'll have to make do with progress shots of the lineart (such as I'm posting today), and various exclusive peeks at the final full colour pages I'll be posting in here.

As usual, you can buy any the DFC back issues, to be delivered anywhere in the world, from the DFC shop right HERE.

I'm off to Bath tommorow for the DFC panel at the Children's Literature Festival (see previous post about the Go Nuts tour), hope to see some of you folks there!

P.S. There's a Monkey Nuts competition running over on the DFC website at the moment, check it out HERE!

DFC ROBOT MITT
Posted by Lorenzo at 10:25 pm

I showed a few break-downs of some of the elements from the DFC launch issue cover in here a while back, and thought I'd show you another, this one being a nice big robot hand. If you compare this to the cover you'll see just how much I cropped off!

Hey folks! Here's something a bit different, issue 16 of Titan's Transformers comic has just come out here in the UK, and it carries a cover and center spread drawn by your ole' pal Lorenzo! Stick around for a breakdown of the artwork coming up soon!

Monkey Nuts Go Nuts Tour is on the road!
Posted by Lorenzo at 10:38 pm

Hey folks!

Just a quick posting to let you know all the shows and shop sighnings and workshops and stuff we're doing in September and October. Hope to see you at a few of them! Meanwhile, here's the blurb from our newsletter mailout:

"After a summer spent diligently producing page after page of comic book nonsense in their Bristol studio, the Etherington Brothers are now happy to announce their End of Year appearance schedule! Yes, indeedy, Bob and Lorenzo will be meeting and greeting lots and lots of comic fans as they commence the official 'Go Nuts' Tour!

For those of you lucky enough to get tickets, the fun will begin on 27th September, at the Bath Festival of Children's Literature panel, when the brothers will be joined by John Aggs (artist on 'John Blake') and Sarah McIntyre (creator of 'Vern and Lettuce'), with David Fickling hosting.

Then it's off to Birmingham for the International Comic Show on the 4-5th October for another DFC panel, comic signings and banter!

The Cheltenham Literature Festival will play host to an Etherington Brothers comic workshop, on the 11th October. With limited places available (first 40 to book get in!) it's first come, first served!

Finally, we'll be hosting two 'Tales On Moon Lane' festival workshops at the Herne Hill and Primrose Hill Children's bookstores. This event will take place on Saturday 25th, with the boys completing one workshop, then being whisked across London to the other store! Exciting times!"

Serenity from MOON! con sketch
Posted by Lorenzo at 12:21 pm

A convention sketch I drew for a MOON! fan back at the Bristol show in May this year. This one depicts Serenity, lead Starlet from our comic MOON!

Tried to make my sketches a little more interesting at Bristol by adding a bit of colour. Hope you dig!

One Night in the City Week! Day 5: The Underwater Lost Panel
Posted by Lorenzo at 2:30 am

Well, here we are at day 5 of our One Night in the City unseen art week, and I hope you folks have enjoyed checking out all this stuff from the vaults. This panel was drawn on a whim, as it depicts a part of a scene taken from waaaay into the story, which I hadn't really even completely decided upon at time of drawing. As with the previous lost panel (see day 2 of the ONITC week's postings) this one never made it past the flat colour stage, but hopefully the mood of the image still translates.

It's time to move on however, as we have lots more to get through before 2008 is out, including tons more Monkey Nuts exclusives, Malcolm Magic news, tour dates, Giant Robots, new contract announcements, Monsters, Pinup Girls, MOON! stuff, and more than a few surprises. So stay tuned, I'll be back very soon with more of everything!
