Two weeks ago we attended the quite simply wonderful DFC launch party at the British Film Institute on London's South Bank. Alongside all the press and creators were 20 lucky young readers who had won the Guardian Newspaper's competition to come along in the afternoon, meet the great Phillip Pullman, and do a comics and animation workshop with four of the DFC's comic creators, two of which being we Etherington Bros. The workshop was great fun to be involved in, with all the children being real fans of the DFC strips which have already run in the Guardian.
There was also a group of young actors there from an Oxford drama school, who had come as characters from the DFC, including a brilliant Sid and Rivet from Monkey Nuts!! In the eve all the cretors and press turned up, and we had the most amazing night meeting and chatting to so many amazing people, all bought together by a real passion for this amazing title.
Here follows some photos of us monkeying around, and there's more on the Guardian's website
HERE.
Check out in particular the suit I'm wearing that I had to go back in time to the seventies and wrestle off Starsky himself!
Nice!
Lorenzo!
